Tapp Thoughts: Monday Night Football

tapppic55

Monday Night Football came and left with us gaining a ill timed lost to our record to bring us to 3 and 5 on the season. And in all honesty we let one get away. Once again we had the lead in the 4th quarter and lost. It was a mistake-filled contest that we were still in until the last second of the game but just couldn't pull it out.

Not going to lie it hurts to put so much effort and to come up short. On to the next game we have a Kevin Kolb led Arizona Cardinals team coming to town that present a lot of problems. They have a future Hall-Of-Famer in Larry Fitzgerald on offense, an explosive special teams unit and I know Kolb wants nothing more than to come back here to Philly and get a win versus the team that traded him away this past offseason. It's a huge challenge that my team will be facing but we are up to the task. Bleed Green

Happy Halloween

darryltapp762Happy Halloween everyone! I am proud to say that the 2011 Eagles have our first winning streak of the season. For a team with so much talent and ability that sounds weird to say with us 7 games into the season but I will take it. We beat our rivals the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night football in front of the Philly faithful. And with that win it allowed me to have a even better holiday.

I celebrated the day by watching "it's the great pumpkin Charlie brown" on DVD and passed out candy to the neighborhood kids. Later that evening the Mrs and I dressed up and hit a costume party in downtown Philly.

With the way we played on Sunday night and the fact our next game in on monday evening, Coach Reid gave us off until Thursday, so I was able to sleep in a little, go get a lift in and watch film on our next opponent the Bears. We will pick up our usual routine on Thursday morning with meetings starting at 8:15am.  And we will work our tail off to extend this win streak to 3 games.

Tapp Thoughts: The Bye Week

40589--nfl_large_200_1000
So we got to the bye week with a 2 and 4 record which is way below the mark we set for ourselves at this point in the season but the good thing is we have ten games left to reach all of our goals.

As a defense we gained confidence with our win at Washington and our familiarity with our defensive scheme is progressing each day. Guys are getting healthy and we should be close to 100% going into our Sunday night showdown with the Cowboys. Back to work tomorrow with meetings and practice.
