Global Youth Service Day is the largest service event in the world. Millions of youth participated in the 20th Annual Global Youth Service Day. VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads coordinates the project at a local level on Saturday, April 24, 2010 throughout Hampton Roads. Hundreds of middle and high school students will volunteer in their community through environmental clean ups.
Project: Middle and high school students will participate in environmental clean-up projects throughout Hampton Roads at project sites including Barraud Park, Chesapeake Arboretum, First Landing State Park and Hoffler Creek. Youth volunteers will be encouraged to continue to serve their community by receiving a Global Youth Service Day Environmental Education Resource CD.
