I leave Seattle to marry my fiancé Tiffany after a year of planning. I couldn’t be more excited. We get married Feb 20 and head to VA for a couple weeks. I come back to Seattle on the 14th of March anticipating the next day because off-season conditioning starts. I have heard rumors of me being the subject of trade talks but I think nothing of it, trade talks are frequent in the NFL but you learn you can’t count anything done until it happens. I sign my tender contract with the Hawks and I am ready to go. Next thing I know, I am informed that I will indeed be traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. Needless to say I am shocked but I understand that this is a part of the business of the NFL. I soon talk to the head coach of the Eagles Andy Reid and now it starts to set in that I am no longer a Hawk but now an Eagle. The next morning I leave Seattle for Philly and I am quickly introduced to my new team and city.
So as you can see, I have experienced a lot in these past 2 and a half months. It has been a complete whirlwind of events that have led to me to being a happily married man and a Philadelphia Eagle. I am super excited to be here in Philly I have felt nothing but brotherly love since being here. I also get a new opportunity to play ball for a great team while starting my new life with my wife in an awesome city. Change is has Come and Change is Good and I am taking it all in day by day. I will be leaving behind the jersey number that I have known since high school for a new one in Philly. Please allow me to reintroduce myself, I am Darryl Tapp #91 Defensive End for the Philadelphia Eagles, Ready to Work Hard and Bleed Green.
